WhatsHisFaceAgain is designed with your privacy as a foundational principle. This policy explains, in plain language, how the app handles your data.
What we collect: nothing.
WhatsHisFaceAgain does not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on our servers. We have no servers. We do not see, access, or have the ability to access any information you enter into the app.
Where your data lives.
All information you enter into WhatsHisFaceAgain — names, notes, photos, contact details, and group organization — is stored locally on your iPhone. If you have iCloud enabled on your device, your data is automatically synced through your personal iCloud account across your Apple devices. This sync uses Apple's CloudKit framework. Your data is encrypted and accessible only to you through your Apple ID. We never have access to it.
Photos and face data.
WhatsHisFaceAgain lets you optionally attach a photo to a person you want to remember. This section explains in detail how those photos are handled.
What face data the app collects: None. WhatsHisFaceAgain does not collect, generate, derive, extract, or process any face data of any kind. The app does not detect faces, recognize faces, match faces, measure facial geometry, or create face templates, embeddings, or biometric identifiers.
How collected face data is used: Not applicable. No face data is collected, so there is no use of face data.
Sharing of face data with third parties: Not applicable. No face data is collected, so nothing is shared with anyone.
Where face data is stored: Not applicable. No face data is collected, so nothing is stored.
How long face data is retained: Not applicable. No face data is collected, so nothing is retained.
How photos themselves are handled: When you attach a photo to a person in the app, the photo is treated as an ordinary image file — the same way the Photos app or any note-taking app would treat a picture. The image data is stored locally on your device and, if iCloud is enabled, synced through your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. The developer has no access to the photo. The app does not use Apple's Vision framework, ARKit face tracking, the TrueDepth camera API, Core Image face detection, or any third-party face recognition library. The app does not analyze the contents of photos in any way; photos are simply displayed as visual reminders alongside the name and notes you have written for that person. Photos are retained until you delete the person they are attached to (or delete the app), at which point they are removed from your device and from your iCloud copy.
No third-party services.
WhatsHisFaceAgain does not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, crash reporting services, or any other external service that would receive your data.
No tracking.
We do not track your activity inside the app or across other apps and websites.
Contact integration.
When you choose to save a person to your iPhone Contacts using the "Save to Contacts" feature, WhatsHisFaceAgain sends that person's information to Apple's built-in Contacts app on your device. This happens entirely on your phone — no information is sent anywhere else.
